The Lilburn Arts Alliance will meet at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 10th, 2014, at the Lilburn City Hall. At this meting the Lilburn Arts Alliance will welcome professional, Certified Picture Framer, David Clyc. David will speak on general framing techniques and materials, as well as in depth information on art media specific framing techniques. This will include watercolor, oils, acrylics, photography, pastels and 3D artwork. Samples of materials and completed projects will be available for viewing. David has owned his own framing business, Mount Gallery, in Tucker, for 20 years, and has been in the custom framing business for 35 years. We will also discuss the showing and selling of our work at Lilburn Daze on October 11th, along with the painted chair project and other topics of interest to our members. Please join us to be a part of the growing arts movement in Lilburn!
The LAA will be hosting an exhibit for our members at this year's Lilburn Daze. There will be original artwork in multiple mediums and prints, as well as 3D art. Be sure and visit our booth! If you are a member that would like to participate download our applicaton and information packet here.
Painted Chair Sale at Lilburn Daze
The LAA has invited all members to "paint a chair.” The painted chair sale will be part of our activities at this year's Lilburn Daze. Come and see how an ordinary chair can be transformed into an original piece of art. The application and additional information is available as a pdf download here.
Pumpkin Carving Contest
We will be having our second, pumpkin carving contest at Lilburn Daze this year. This is open to all members and non-members. It is a great opportunity for everyone to get involved by having their children, grandchildren, etc., participate in this fun activity. The LAA currently has upcoming exhibits in four venues in the Lilburn area. They are 1910 Public House on Main Street in Lilburn, Three Blind Mice on Killian Hill Road, the Lilburn Library on Hillcrest Road and the Mountain Park Library on Five Forks Trickum Rd. On July 9, 2014 we had guest artist speaker Christopher Sherry, who talked about using color to create perspective and gave us a really great demonstration with oil paints.
